About ALyssA
Hey there! I'm Alyssa, a photographer passionate about capturing the beauty of love and the warmth of family bonds. From the tender moments of weddings to the joyous chaos of family gatherings, I specialize in freezing those priceless memories in time. Let's create timeless treasures together!
When I first meet my clients, I love learning about what you do for work and what makes you, well... you! I’ve had many different jobs before photography, including working in a manufacturing plant, taking care of the elderly, and eventually finding my way into the world of photography. While working in in-home care for geriatric patients, I was exposed to all kinds of life experiences. One thing that stood out to me was the deep trust my patients placed in me to care for them. Trust is a core value I hold dear to my heart. As I help clients navigate the process of planning their weddings, I’m always honored to earn their trust and be a part of this incredible journey.
I attended Hallmark Institute of Photography in 2016, and I was beyond excited to start my photography journey. I had the opportunity to assist multiple photographers and later began second shooting, learning so much from our role models along the way. I felt ready to build my own business.
However, life isn’t always a straight path. I decided to go back to school for Occupational Therapy Assisting, completing my degree while continuing to photograph weddings and finishing my clinical work. Through it all, I knew that photography would always be my passion. Now, I couldn’t be more excited to fully commit to my couples and families.
When I’m not behind the camera, you can probably find me watching Cars with my dogs! I love traveling to new places and exploring. If I’m not wearing purple, you’ll see it in my everyday items—like my water bottle, phone case, computer mouse, and my Jeep—just kidding (but I wish)! There’s something about chaos that I find exciting. I love walking into a room and figuring out what I can fix or how I can help. I may have a natural RBF, but there’s nothing I love more than laughing—and getting you to laugh, too!
I believe every click of the shutter is an opportunity to create something truly remarkable. Whether it's a wedding, a family portrait session, or a first birthday session, I approach each project with creativity, professionalism, and a commitment to exceeding our clients' expectations.

Where do I begin?! From my first email to Alyssa to the last one with the delivery of all our beautiful pictures, my experience working with her was absolutely amazing. Communication was easy, timely, detailed and extremely professional. She photographed our wedding but I’d be lying if I said that’s all she did. She helped us create the perfect timeline, including figuring out what time the sun would set on our wedding day so we could have the best lighting! On the day of she was so organized and made sure to get every picture we wanted. She even had body pins to help with my hair and helped all the guys with their boutonnières. She kept us updated on where she was in her editing process and delivered the most beautiful photos of our special day. She’s incredibly talented at what she does and she’s the sweetest human which makes working with her that much more of a pleasure :)

I 100% recommend Alyssa Michel Photography! She was very communicative prior to the appointment, was willing to travel for the shoot, and was incredibly professional yet fun! She has a real eye for what looks good, and goes for all of the shots (even candid ones)! She was so patient with our 8 year old, who sometimes had her own ideas, and Alyssa went with some of her ideas. We loved working with her and will definitely work with her in the future!

Alyssa really knocked it out of the park!!! Her creative eye and attention to detail really took our forever wedding memories to a whole new level. From the very start Alyssa was a big part of our wedding day, offering great suggestions, guidance and connections to venders if needed (greatly appreciated!). I cannot recommend Alyssa more, especially when it comes to motherhood / family photos. I had a traumatic birthing experience that prevented myself and my husband to get many photos with our daughter separately and had zero of all three of us as a new family. Alyssa photographed us during a Mommy & Me shoot while my daughter was 2 months old. Newborns are so unpredictable and she was amazing with her!! She made sure to give my baby breaks, allowed her to eat, soothed her (and us!!) by her calming and friendly presence. This shoot meant the world to me, to finally have pictures of my baby and growing family! they came out amazing and I've never felt more beautiful (which could be so so hard postpartum). I can not thank Alyssa enough for what she gave our family and already itching to book with her again soon!!!

When we started looking into a photographer for our wedding Alyssa came highly recommended. We met up to go over what we were looking for and hit it off instantly. She did our engagement session to start and got the most incredible shots of us as well as our daughter. It was very important to us to find somebody who was patient with our daughter as she’s special needs and can take a bit of time to adjust to things. Not only was Alyssa patient but she went above and beyond to make our daughter feel comfortable, included and excited for the entire shoot. For the entire year leading up to the wedding she kept constant contact with us, bouncing ideas off one another, dealing with our never ending venue search and even helped us get in contact with the venue we wound up choosing for our reception. I don’t think I realized just how difficult planning a wedding was going to be but Alyssa helped every step of the way with any issues or concerns I was having, she has so much knowledge not just for the photography aspect but the entire process. Once the wedding came around I knew she already had our vision down perfectly and she did not disappoint! Our photos turned out absolutely incredible! Not to mention the fact that she helped keep my head on straight during the hours leading up the ceremony. We got our full album back as well as a beautiful canvas and it’s all completely breathtaking. You absolutely can’t go wrong hiring Alyssa for any of your photography needs!
